Hollywood’s Unofficial Film Corps with Michael Berkowitz
Join Michael Berkowitz for a virtual talk about his recently published Hollywood’s Unofficial Film Corps. In the book, Berkowitz explores the centrality of humorist and best-selling author Leo Rosten (The Joys of Yiddish) and writer, producer, and screenwriter Budd Schulberg (On the Waterfront, A Face in the Crowd) in order to examine the elusive story of Hollywood insiders’ role in World War II.
Michael Berkowitz is professor of modern Jewish history at University College London.
