Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) president and professor Daniel Chamovitz presented Israeli President Reuven Rivlin with Israel’s new postage stamp commemorating the university’s 50th anniversary.
Created by Israeli designer Zvika Roitman, the stamp highlights BGU’s focus on innovations in science, technology and commercial collaboration envisioned by Israel’s first prime minister, David Ben-Gurion.
The imagery includes Ben-Gurion juxtaposed with symbols of the university’s areas of expertise, the DNA bridge connecting the Marcus Family Campus to the Advanced Technologies Park, the Zalman Aranne Central Library and BGU students.
Rivlin will be joining the gala celebrating BGU’s 50th anniversary during the board of governors meeting on May 17.
