Nefesh B’Nefesh will provide prospective immigrants to Israel with the opportunity to have questions about aliyahanswered under one roof at informational fairs in major American cities in December. The fairs will be held in cooperation with Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael, Israel’s Ministry of Aliyah and Integration, the Jewish Agency for Israel and Jewish National Fund-USA.
Nefesh B’Nefesh is holding its winter fairs in Boca Raton (Dec. 12) and Miami (Dec. 13), Baltimore (Dec. 16), Philadelphia (Dec. 17) and Chicago (Dec. 18). Attendees will meet with professionals and receive step-by-step guidance from experts regarding important details pertaining to aliyah planning and starting a new life in Israel.
Also, on Dec. 16 in Paramus, N.J., Nefesh B’Nefesh will host “Bergen County ‘Aliyah’ Dollars and Sense,” a practical planning session on budgeting, cost of living and calculating earning potential in Israel. Two events are scheduled: one designed for retirees, held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; and one for families, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the Nefesh B’Nefesh New Jersey office, 50 Eisenhower Drive in Paramus.
“For many, aliyah is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. As this dream starts becoming a reality, those considering aliyah want to learn more about the details that go into their move,” said Rabbi Yehoshua Fass, co-founder and executive director of Nefesh B’Nefesh.
The winter fairs aim to provide an informational resource for those looking to move to Israel in the near future, as well as individuals who are curious about what aliyah might entail further down the line. Representatives from various Israeli communities including Beit Shemesh, Haifa and Jerusalem will also be at the fairs to introduce future new immigrants (olim) to their communities, as well as representatives from the Jewish Agency for Israel, Bayit Yisraeli and Naale.
Prospective olim attending the fairs will be able to learn more about the joint Nefesh B’Nefesh and Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael “Go Beyond” Initiative. The project aims to assist olim in maximizing their opportunities offered in the country’s northern and southern frontiers, as well as in Jerusalem, by investing in its infrastructure and people.
New immigrants who choose to make aliyah through “Go Beyond” are offered enhanced benefits, including grants of up to $20,000, pilot trips, regional aliyah guidance and employment opportunities.
