British-Jewish striker Nick Blackman, who is currently playing for Derby County, was flown to Israel at the invitation of BMaccabi Tel Aviv to meet the team and examine the option of relocating to coastal city’s club.

This isn’t the first time the Jewish athlete visited Israel. He took part in the Maccabiah games when he was 13 years old. He famously said that due to his rich family heritage he is able to play for Israel, Poland, and the Netherlands as his mother has family roots in these countries as well as Barbados, where his father is from.

Blackman arrived in Israel with British soccer manager Steve McClaren. This might be a positive change for Blackman after scoring only one goal for his current team since he joined it three years ago.
