While the founding fathers made clear that the United States is “in no way a Christian Nation” (see Treaty of Tripoli, approved by Washington and Adams and ratified by the Senate) and never referred to Christianity or Jesus in the Declaration, Constitution or any official documents, the words on the Liberty Bell quote Jewish Scripture “Proclaim liberty throughout the land, unto all the inhabitants thereof.”

And when our fledgling nation faced financial bankruptcy during the American Revolution, Haym Salomon gave $25 million to feed, clothe and arm the Continental Army, a staggering figure in those days, which saved our nation. A grateful George Washington approved the placement of a Jewish star on the dollar bill, which can still be seen to this day.
