At the occasion of World Philosophy Day 2017, UNESCO’s Management of Social Transformations (MOST) Programme will also associate itself with the 2017 Ciudad de las Ideas, organized by UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Andrés Roemer, in Puebla (Mexico), from 17 to 19 November 2017. This edition is entitled “Beyond X”, and includes cutting-edge scientists and entrepreneurs who will discuss where humanity is going in the face of technological change.
La Ciudad de las Ideas is an initiative which was created ten years ago by Andrés Roemer and Ricardo Salinas Pliego. Over the past 10 years, these ‘ideastas’ have put forward projects and proposals that are achievable and promise high impact on society’s wellbeing, fostering emotional intelligence and human development. To achieve this, the most outstanding figures in architecture, design, philosophy, economics, psychology, linguistics, art, politics, literature and science are selected.
The challenge is to be able to identify counter-intuitive thinkers with dangerous ideas, original concepts and robust insights that could help to unravel the most important enigmas of our time. Thus, the Xth Anniversary of La Ciudad de las Ideas invites us to go “Beyond X”.
