Hezbollah confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that Yasser Nimr Qarnabsh, a former aide to the Lebanese terror group’s leader Hassan Nasrallah, was eliminated in an alleged Israel drone strike outside Syria’s capital.
Al-Akhbar, a Lebanese daily close to the Iran-backed terror organization, said Qarnabsh was killed after the Israel Defense Forces targeted his car near a checkpoint on the Damascus-Beirut Highway.
Local media said Qranbish was part of an elite Hezbollah unit responsible for transferring terrorists and weaponry from Syria to Lebanon and previously served as Nasrallah’s personal bodyguard.
Earlier on Tuesday, Hezbollah released a second aerial reconnaissance video of Israeli sites, this time documenting the Golan Heights.
Hezbollah’s drone, dubbed hudhud, the Arabic name for Israel’s national bird, the hoopoe, last month captured footage of Haifa Port, one of Israel’s most important commercial shipping gateways.
The latest video includes “scenes of aerial reconnaissance of intelligence bases, command headquarters, and camps in the occupied Syrian Arab Golan, returned by aircraft of the Islamic Resistance Air Force,” the Iranian-backed terror army wrote on its Telegram channel.

During last month’s Haifa incident, the Israel Defense Forces made the decision not to intercept the surveillance UAV as it did not pose a threat, and due to the fear that interception fragments could harm civilians, according to Israeli media.
Since joining the war in support of Hamas on Oct. 8, Hezbollah has fired more than 5,000 rockets, anti-tank missiles and suicide drones at Israeli border communities.
