Since early this morning, approximately 150 teenagers from the youth movement of the HaShomer HaChadash Organization – the New Movement – have been working tirelessly to clean and restore public spaces in the city of Kiryat Shmona.
This initiative is part of a broader project aimed at rebuilding and revitalizing Kiryat Shmona, spearheaded by HaShomer HaChadash in collaboration with the New Movement youth group. Their efforts focus on preparing the city for the return of its residents by restoring a sense of normalcy and creating welcoming public spaces.
Today, employees of the Lev HaSharon Regional Council, led by Council Chairman Eli Atoun, joined the efforts. Atoun, together with Mayor Avichai Stern, visited the city to commend the volunteers for their dedication to this meaningful mission.
Eitan Ben-Zvi, Secretary-General of the New Movement, expressed his gratitude, saying: “To the youth members of the New Movement and the employees of the Lev HaSharon Regional Council, thank you for making today so impactful. Your hard work in weeding, cleaning, and preparing Kiryat Shmona is an essential step in helping the residents return to their homes.”
