Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the decision “delusional,” saying that “this time UNESCO has determined that the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron is a Palestinian site, somehow not Jewish, and that the site is in danger. Not a Jewish site?! Who is buried there – Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Sarah, Rebecca and Leah. Our forefathers and mothers! And the site is in danger? Only in places Israel is present in, like Hebron, are religious freedoms for all, promised.”
