Jewish actor Adam Ross Glickman of Cooper City stars as Austrian Nazi official Herr Zeller in the national tour musical of “The Sound of Music,” running now through Oct. 22 at Broward Center.
As Zeller, Glickman plays a dark character in the famed musical, who is stern and adamant about Austria becoming an ally to the Nazis.
In a memorable scene, Zeller advises Captain von Trapp to accept the inevitable occupation of a Nazi government in Austria as indicated in the dialogue between Zeller and Captain von Trapp (actor Mike McLean).
“The Nazis are coming. Captain. Perhaps they would get further with you by settling their words to music,” said the Zeller character.
“If the Nazis take over Austria, I have no doubt, Herr Zeller, that you will be the entire trumpet section,” the Captain replies.
“Zeller is the instigator who wants Nazi rule in Austria and I played him as a dark character who advises everyone to accept them,” said Glickman.
