U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was released on Wednesday from a Maryland hospital, announced the nation’s highest court in a statement.
Ginsburg was hospitalized on Tuesday and received treatment for acute cholecystitis, which the Supreme Court described as a “benign gallbladder condition.”
“Justice Ginsburg has been discharged from the hospital. She is doing well and glad to be home,” said the statement. “The Justice will return to the John’s Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, for follow-up outpatient visits over the next few weeks to eventually remove the gallstone non-surgically.”
Ginsburg still participated in oral arguments on Wednesday.
In August 2019, she underwent radiation for a tumor on her pancreas.
In December 2018, Ginsburg underwent surgery to remove cancerous nodules from her lungs.
