The Republican Jewish Coalition is backing the candidacy of Rep. Nick LaLota (R-N.Y.).

The group released a statement on Monday from Norm Coleman, a former Minnesota senator and the current RJC national chairman, and CEO Matt Brooks.

Coleman and Brooks called LaLota “one of the impressive New York Republicans whose 2022 victory gave the GOP a majority in the House.”

They said he had “been an unflinching supporter of Israel’s right of self-defense, and he’s spoken out on the problem of antisemitism on campus.”

RJC highlighted LaLota’s time in the Navy and praised his integrity. The group called him “an asset to the House Armed Forces Committee, the House Homeland Security Committee and the House Small Business Committee, and a dedicated advocate for his constituents.”

Coleman and Brooks said LaLota had “earned the trust and esteem” of the people in New York City’s Congressional District 1, and particularly, “the Jewish community of Long Island. We are proud to support him.”
