The newly elected board of directors of the Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael-Jewish National Fund has voted in World Zionist Organization chairman Avraham Duvdevani as KKL-JNF’s new global chairman.
Duvdevani, who has served as WZO chairman for the past decade, was already part of KKL-JNF as co-chair. He has vast experience in Zionist activity in the Diaspora and is highly familiar with Jewish communities around the world.
Born in 1945 in Jerusalem, prior to his military service, he studied at the Netiv Meir Yeshiva and the Kfar Hasidim Yeshiva. He enlisted in the IDF Paratroopers Brigade and even took part in the liberation of Jerusalem during the Six-Day War.
Duvdevani holds a bachelor’s degree in Jewish history and educational administration, and a master’s degree in sociology of education, both from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He and his wife, Dina, reside in Ramat Gan and have four children.
