French rabbi, author, producer and broadcaster Josy Eisenberg passed away on Friday aged 83.
Eisenberg had produced the Jewish religious programme on French television “The Source of Life” since 1962 and was the author of 15 books.
Eisenberg died in Normandy where he had a house and will be buried in Jerusalem.
France’s Chief Rabbi Haim Korsia praised Eisenberg as an important personality “in the reconstruction of French Judaism after the war” and as “a man of great intelligence and great curiosity.”
