German police have arrested a Syrian refugee on suspicion of plotting a chemical attack in Israel, local media reported on Friday.
The suspect, 21, was allegedly actively recruiting members for a cell that was to carry out the attack at the time of his arrest.
German police confirmed that the suspect was detained last week after he was involved in a brawl in a Berlin cafe.
The suspicions against him arose following information provided by German intelligence. Police then began tracking the suspect via his cell-phone signal, but he was arrested only after the cafe incident.
