Between the dates of September 11 through 12th, Lithuanians, with their nazi colleagues, murdered 43 persons in Uzusalis. The record does not indicate if these particular victims were Jews. These killings were stated to be in reprisal against locals who were accused of feeding Russian partisans. Some of this days victims were also in possession of weapons. It is unlikely that these victims were Jews, by this time, Lithuanians had withdrawn food from their Jewish victims.

By September 12, 1941, Lithuania had already become lawless, murder was honorable, particularly if their victims were Jews. Between September 1 – 12, 1941, approximately 22,500 Jews had been murdered in these 12 days, almost 2,000 Jews a day.

Lithuania was now flooded with a font of stolen Jewish property floating around the country, sharing plunder was expected and honorable for Lithuania. Lithuanians were upgrading their homes by moving into their now murdered Jewish neighbors’ houses, and generously sharing Jewish possessions with their friends. There were no longer any limits on violence, society had become a mass of blood thirsty savages and thieves.

Today, Lithuania would like to present themselves as normal people, but the fact that they have so many honors and monuments for Jew murderers would indicate otherwise. Their usual response to these monuments is that the Holocaust perpetrator planted a flag somewhere or petted a puppy, and thus deserve honors, murdering Jews has no apparent negative connotations in Lithuanian selection of heroes. It is Lithuania’s choice how they present themselves, most countries try to put their best foot forward, Lithuania presents to the world that their best heroes are a bunch of murderers and thieves. If they present these as their national values, we should believe them.
