He couldn’t set on fire the House (until now anyway) but Trump’s Putsch just started with the firing of Rex Tillerson, the change of his personal lawyers and the nomination of John Bolton as National Security Advisor.
His designation, together with all the other changes in Trump’s government signal the start of an all out war against his detractors and “enemies” and will certainly be supported by international “distractions” such as the trade war with China and soon to be seen, the breakdown of the Iran Treaty.
But why this urgency to change everything and everybody?
Two words: Cambridge Analytica
The disclosure of the Cambridge Analytica campaign to secure Trump’s election (an affair paid for by Robert Mercer and directed by Steve Bannon and used to support both Cruz and Trump) brings up to the forefront the political manipulations used by them to win the election.
The problem is that by disclosing it the Russian “element” simply vanishes in the light of the Republican usage of this tool.
Let me be clear, it might not be illegal to lie, it is not illegal to cheat in elections, it is not illegal to fish data and it is certainly not illegal to win but, given that with this disclosures the “Russian” element is out of the game Trump and his supporters will have to take full control of the Republican party or face the possibility of impeachment given that Trump’s next move will be either to fire, but certainly to confront, Robert Mueller now that he is getting to the center of the problem.
The “Russians” are really the “Republicans”, Putin is a role model for Trump, extremists are taking over each position and the “dog is beginning to wag his tail” first with China, next with Iran.
There are few heads to fall and certainly fewer to hold back Trump.
Let’s all adjust our seat-belts and hope for a smooth end to this wild ride.
