Despite major budget cuts, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) posted a job last month paying 14 times the average annual Palestinian income.

Following an announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump that the United States would be slashing its UNRWA funding, UNRWA fired 125 workers, told another 570 that they would now be employed only part-time, and warned an additional 270 that their contracts would be up at the end of the year if the financial situation did not improve.
In late September, UNRWA announced that several Palestinian public facilities would be shuttered due to a deficit of $185 million. It subsequently raised $122 million.
