Sirens sounded in northern Israel on Tuesday morning due to a potential hostile aircraft intrusion from Lebanon, with the Israel Defense Forces later giving the all-clear.
Three anti-tank missile launches from Lebanon toward the area of Metula near the Israel-Lebanon border were identified by the IDF on Tuesday morning. No injuries were reported, and the IDF struck the source of the launches.
Later on Tuesday morning, the IDF reported that terrorists fired mortar shells at a military post in northern Israel. No injuries were reported in that attack and the IDF responded with artillery fire.
Lebanon’s Al-Mayadeen television station, which is affiliated with Hezbollah, claimed that two of its employees were killed in an Israeli airstrike on targets in the border town of Tair Harfa.
A spokesperson for the Iran-backed terror group vowed in a statement that the killing of Farah Omar and Rabih Maamari would “not pass without retaliation.”
Like Qatar’s Al Jazeera network, Al-Mayadeen has been accused of serving as a propaganda channel for the Hamas terrorist group following its Oct. 7 mass slaughter of Israeli civilians.
A recent investigation by Israel’s Makor Rishon newspaper found that Al-Mayadeen broadcast photos of Israeli soldiers in a way that allowed Hamas terrorists to identify their locations.
A separate Israeli strike at another location in Southern Lebanon killed four Hamas terrorists on Tuesday, Lebanese security officials told the Associated Press.
Since Oct. 7, three Israeli civilians and six IDF soldiers have been killed in attacks on the northern border. Many more have been wounded.
