About
In honor of MLK day, join religious leaders from across the City of Los Angeles who represent multiple faiths for a discussion about the critical role they play particularly during difficult times for communities. From the role of Rabbis during the Holocaust to the work of MLK and religious allies during the civil rights movement, we look at how these leaders can lift up and frame societal attitudes during challenging times.
The conversation will be moderated by Rabbi Tarlan Rabizadeh, American Jewish University’s VP for Jewish Engagement. Rabbi Rabizadeh was ordained at Hebrew Union College-JIR, served as the Jewish Emergent Network Fellow at The Kitchen in San Francisco, and was a Milken Community High School faculty member.
Panelists include:
Pastor William D. Smart, Jr. – President and CEO of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference of Southern California
Hyepin Im – U.S. Presidential Appointee on the Board of the Corporation for National and Community Service. She is the President and Founder of Korean Churches for Community Development (KCCD), a national nonprofit, empowering churches and nonprofits to leverage their resources by building capacity, leadership, and partnerships in economic development and serving as a bridge between the Asian American community and the greater community.
