A 10-year-old child prodigy from Belgium is considering furthering his academics in Israel.
Laurent Simons and his parents recently met with Emmanuel Nahshon, ambassador of Israel to Belgium and Luxembourg, to hear about Israel’s opportunities in higher education.
The Israeli embassy in Belgium and Luxembourg posted a photo on Instagram of the meeting, along with a caption noting the boy’s goal of creating create artificial organs to help extend life expectancy.
“I was very happy to meet young Laurent and his parents,” Nahshon told ISRAEL21c. “He is a very impressive person and we hope to help him find a suitable university in Israel, in order to develop his unique talents.”
However, he left the university after a dispute over his graduation date, CNN reported, adding that he then received an offer to study for a doctorate at a college in the United States.
