Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu signed a directive to ban the import and sale of U.S. Juul e-cigarettes in Israel.
The move came at the recommendation of Israel’s Health Ministry and Deputy Health Minister Yaakov Litzman, due to the product’s extremely high levels of nicotine.
Juul entered Israel’s market in May and has since become the most popular e-cigarette in the United States.
As of April 2018, JUUL accounts for approximately 60 percent of the American e-cigarette market.
