After an image circulated online of Ludivine Daoudi wearing a Nazi hat, the candidate for office as part of Marine Le Pen’s National Rally party withdrew her candidacy, Politico reported.

Daoudi was running for office in Calvados in Normandy, France.

The erstwhile candidate “does not deny” that she wore the Nazi hat and “took this photo several years ago at a gun fair in Saint-Pierre-sur-Dives,” Philippe Chapron, a National Rally official, told French media.

“She agrees that the photo is in bad taste,” he said, and her “candidacy will be withdrawn today.”

The National Rally party won big, with about a third of the vote, in the first round of France’s legislative elections on Sunday. French President Emmanuel Macron’s coalition came in third.
