epa05818619 Women of the Wall, a group of religious but reform Jewish women, hold a prayer service in the women’s section of the Western Wall, Judaism’s holiest site, in Jerusalem’s Old City, 27 February 2017. Police were out in force as religious Jewish men and women protested their holding the service as they wear prayer shawls (talit) and skull caps (yarmulkes), which are usually and traditionally only worn by religious Jewish men when they pray. The Women of the Wall usually hold ‘Rosh Hodesh’ prayers, such as today, which marks the beginning of a new month according to the Jewish calendar. EPA/JIM HOLLANDER
