An Israeli soldier stationed at the Israel-Gaza border was wounded on Friday by Gaza protestors.
“An IDF officer was moderately injured by a grenade that terrorists from Gaza threw at him during violent riots along the security fence,” the IDF Spokesperson Unit said in a statement.
Since March 2018, Hamas has organized weekly violent riots known as the “March of Return” along the Israel-Gaza border fence that have included the use of grenades, fire bombs, explosives, stones, burning tires, and incendiary kites and balloons. Palestinian rioters have also attempted to infiltrate into Israel.
“Hamas continues to send civilians to the security fence, endangering their lives by using them as a cover for terror acts,” said the IDF.
