The synagogue packed with people praying under their white tallises looks like “a forest of snow-covered trees” and everyone prays the same prayer, but under each tallis there is a different person with different needs. When one prays for a fiery sun to make the whole town thirst for his seltzer, and another prays for endless rain so people will need his coach service, who will win?

Written by Y. L. Peretz, the “father of modern Yiddish literature,” and adapted by beloved humorist Yoysef Tunkel and Yiddish theater great Joseph Buloff, this tale might change your view of the holidays!
