The U.S. State Department announced on Friday that Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Barbara Leaf will travel to Israel and the West Bank this weekend for meetings with Israeli and Palestinian officials.

According to a State Department news release, Leaf will be in the region from June 11-14, consulting with officials on deepening bilateral collaboration between the United States, Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

She will be accompanied by Deputy Assistant Secretary for Israeli and Palestinian Affairs Hady Amr and the National Security Council’s director for Israel and Palestinian Affairs, Cynthia Cook.

The group will meet with government officials from both sides, as well as with representatives of Israeli and Palestinian civil society.
