Israeli President Isaac Herzog will head to Germany on Friday to attend a series of policy meetings at the 60th Munich Security Conference, his office announced on Thursday.

Herzog is scheduled to meet with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and discuss efforts to release the hostages kidnapped by Hamas on Oct. 7.

Joining the president for the trip will be freed hostages Adi Shoham, 38, and Aviva Segal, 62.

Adi was released in the second and Aviva in the third stage of a ceasefire deal in November.

Adi’s husband Tal, 39, and Aviva’s husband Keith, 64, remain in captivity.

Also traveling with the president will be representatives of other abductees’ families.

The purpose of the meetings is to promote political pressure as part of the effort to free the hostages by revealing to world leaders the atrocities committed by Hamas, according to Herzog’s office.
