Israel’s State Comptroller Matanyahu Englman announced on Sunday that his office will hold an in-depth review of the government’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

Israel had recorded 17,106 coronavirus cases as of Monday morning. Some 14,811 patients have recovered from the disease, and 285 have died from it.

Englman said his office has collected all relevant information on government decisions concerning the management of the COVID-19 crisis over the past two months and held meetings with officials from a range of governing institutions.

In an official letter, Engelman informed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of the imminent review, which is expected to zero in on inter-ministerial cooperation since the start of the pandemic.
