The Qatari envoy to the Gaza Strip, Mohammad al-Amadi, told Hamas officials his country would discontinue its almost $10 million in funding towards the territory’s electricity amid a lack of improvement with infrastructure projects, reported Israeli media out Kan.
The current funds to the Gaza Strip are set to expire in April. Qatar has funneled some $1.1 billion in aid money to Gaza since 2012.
This move comes almost a month after Hamas rejected a $15 million transfer from the Gulf state, which Israel approved after initially blocking it.
