The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold an extraordinary meeting on Sunday to discuss Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s announcement last week that Israel will annex parts of the West Bank, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said on Saturday, according to Reuters.

Netanyahu said on Tuesday that if re-elected this week he would extend Israeli sovereignty to the Jordan Valley.

Turkey’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the OIC would meet in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to discuss “Netanyahu’s statements on the intention to annex Jordan Valley and the illegal settlements in West Bank by Israel,” according to the report.

Turkey’s government, led by Islamist President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has maintained an anti-Israel foreign policy.
