For the first time, an incumbent vice president of the United States will speak at the annual conference of the Israeli-American Council, which this year begins Nov. 29 in Florida.

U.S. Vice President Mike Pence, a staunch ally of the Jewish state, will attend the event alongside a long list of notable American and Israeli politicians and public figures.

The council, which works to forge connections between the Israeli and general Jewish communities in the United States, and serves as a bridge with Israel, marked its 10-year anniversary last March.

Among the other speakers at the event include philanthropists Dr. Miriam and Sheldon Adelson, Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein, Israeli Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked, Knesset member Dr. Nahman Shai, Jewish Agency chairman Isaac Herzog, Israeli Ambassador to the United States Ron Dermer, Israel Prize recipient Miriam Peretz and members of the U.S. Congress from both sides of the political aisle.

The IAC is active in 27 states in the United States, including in 16 cities and in more than 80 college campuses.

It has notched up impressive victories against the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement by promoting anti-BDS legislation in the United States.
