As many as 100 anti-Israel students descended on the table where six Jewish students representing CAMERA on Campus at the University of Exeter in England, were distributing their group’s literature, forcing them to end their event early to escape potential violence.

Video captured the altercation, showing one student yelling at the CAMERA members that they were akin to white supremacists. The university needed to pay for taxis to provide a safe exit for the students.

Christina Jones, communications associate for CAMERA on Campus UK, said “disturbingly, university staff stood by without intervention, claiming there was no breach of law, even after a drink was thrown at the students.”

In a statement, CAMERA on Campus said the students involved “have been encouraged to provide all available evidence, including video footage, voice recordings and written statements to support any potential legal action.”

The group noted that such evidence “will be crucial in building a comprehensive case that reveals the toxic antisemitism prevailing on Exeter’s campus.”
