Have just heard of your ill-advised idea for a Jewish caucus in Congress

Most Jewish members of Congress blindly endorse the idea of the PLO state, which would portend a disaster for Israel.

For the sake of Jerusalem, please drop the idea of a Jewish caucus in Congress, which would ally itself with the PLO state advocates.

You do not live here.

Do not impose a PLO state on us.

Full Disclosure: My parents, Phillip and Miriam Bedein, of Blessed Memory, were lifelong members of the American Jewish Congress.

What a PLO regime would entail:

I. The PA has not conducted a Presidential election since 2005, nor an election for any other positions since the PA Parliamentary elections of 2006. This leaves Muhammad Abbas and whoever he chooses as a successor for the position of “president for life”, a notion which stands in opposition to the principles of electoral choice and accountability held so dear to those who live in functioning democratic nations which support the concept of a PLO state

II. The PA regime violates basic international criminal codes.
Palestinian human rights expert Bassem Eid prepared a monograph for the Henry Jackson Society in 2016 in which he documents the following:

a. The PA legislates that there are no fewer than 42 acts for which the penalty is death can be imposed.

b. The PA uses extra-judicial killings and torture as an instrument to obtain evidence.

c. The PA generates voluminous human rights complaints. In 2015 alone, there were 42 allegations of violation of free speech, and similar violations of basic personal human rights.

d. The PA does not allow freedom of the press, a right that people in the free world have cherished and sought to protect for centuries.

e. The PA has an egregious record for incitement to violence, notwithstanding its numerous written claims to restrain such use of both oral and written speech.

f. The PA imposes the penalty of death on any Arab who sells real estate to Jews.

g. The PA has accumulated a long and inglorious history of embezzling funds and other forms of aid intended for humanitarian purposes. The PA’s guiding spirit, Yasser Arafat, accumulated a fortune well in excess of one billion US dollars in this fashion: stealing money intended to be used to build schools, hospitals, roads, and the like. “Transparency International” investigation (January 19, 2012) found that Arafat had misappropriated at least eight hundred million $800,000,000.00) dollars. Abbas follows in his footsteps with his own family’s history of embezzlement from the PA.

III. Texts supplied to the schools in the PA an UNRWA contain false and prejudicial information, indoctrinating the next generation for war by means of demonization, delegitimation and the advocacy of a violent struggle. These texts are well documented, and may be seen on the website of Center for Near East Policy Research. www.IsraelBehindTheNews.com

IV According to an on ordinance of PA law, the PA provides an unprecedented automatic bank transfer to anyone who murders (or attempts to murder) a Jew. This allocation is for the killer and for the family of the murderer – for life. The PA allocates at least seventeen million (17,000,000.00 NIS) per month as rewards for capital crimes against Jews.
