Minister of Foreign Affairs Israel Katz met today (Monday, 29 July 2019) with Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, who is on a state visit to Israel.

FM Katz thanked President Grabar-Kitarović for Croatia’s support of Israel at international forums, and it was agreed that bilateral cooperation will continue.

FM Katz said: “Next year, Croatia will head the European Union, and it is time for the EU to change its policy to ensure that Iran will never obtain nuclear weapons. The world must unite and confront Iran, and I call on all nations to join the US sanctions imposed by President Trump.”

The two discussed economic and strategic cooperation and ventures between the two countries that will continue to intensify and expand.

FM Katz added: “The recent increase in anti-Semitism around the world and in Europe in particular is of great concern.”

FM Katz thanked President Grabar-Kitarović for the steps her country has taken to combat anti-Semitism, and emphasized the need to continue an uncompromising struggle against all manifestations of anti-Semitism.
