In a rare move, Israel voted against an American proposal that was defeated on Monday to alter a U.N. resolution combating sexual harassment.

The United States sought to water down language in the nonbinding measure regarding accessibility to safe abortions and reproductive health care, in addition to acknowledging the right of females to determine issues pertaining to sexuality.

In addition to the United States, the resolution was also supported by India, China, Russia, the Vatican and several Muslim nations.
