SAN DIEGO –18 Under 18 was created so that outstanding Jewish teens in San Diego could be recognized for the incredible things that they were doing. They have exhibited leadership in teen  youth groups and have been creative and passionate in jump-starting new offerings to their peers.

This year the San Diego Jewish Teen Initiative is proud to recognize the following 18 teens for going above and beyond during a year when it might have been completely acceptable to stay in bed and hide from the outside world. Mazal tov: Olive Benito, Jaeden Clark, Jordan Bially Levy, Shai Davis, Kate Chasin, Liora Krantz, Maytal Lefkowitz, Elijah Mandel, Zoe Levin, Lauren Mathios, David Lutz, Anna Maya, Yaara Oren, Netanel Schwartz, Kim Peretz, Ben Talpalatsky, Fania Pupko, and Hannah Velazquez. Thank you for showing us the true meaning of resilient.

We would like to dedicate this year’s 18 Under 18 recognition to the 582,000 (and rising) lives that were lost to COVID-19 – one of which was 18 Under 18 recipient, Netanel Schwartz’ father, Daniel Schwartz Z’’L. May their memories be for a blessing.
